Moving to Texas.............

I am so excited to tell everyone that Jason, Christopher and I will be moving to Texas June 5th 2010. We are going to be houseparents in San Benito Texas at a place called Sunny Glen Children's Home. We visited there in March and immediately felt called to this place. It was an indescribable feeling to feel so immersed in the thing that God creates you for. While Jason and Christopher played carlot on the floor with the children, tears welled up in my spirit. I looked at Jason and he just said to me in a whisper, Stop it. He was as in love with the place as I was. The director, Terry Moore, and his wife Linda, allowed us to stay the night. It was so wonderful and perfect.
We prayed for a week straight coming back. It was hard to come back. We felt like we weren't supposed to leave. We didnt know how it would all work out with Jason's school schedule. But God is so faithful.
We gave it to God and said...we don't want to do this unless you are behind us and in front of us the whole way.......He was!
I can't believe how blessed we are. I thank God for this opportunity to serve these precious children. We will be taking care of 8 children.....as respite relief for the other houseparents. We are also going to be helping to establish and run a maternity home.
How are beautiful are your ways Lord. I am just drinking deeply of all your goodness and love.
Prayers as we prepare to go and as we serve:
1. Protect Christopher and allow this experience to help him develop into an amazing man of god, a servant, and lover of your children and your ways.
2. Help Jason as he finishes his classes.
3. Help Jason as he does his clinical portion. Help us to be strong as we are away from each other. Let us keep our eyes on you and remember why we are working so hard.
4. Bless each little child. Bless each girl. Bless each little baby. Let us be constant reminders of your love through our actions and care for these kids. Let us be more like you. Let them feel loved.
5. Help us as we figure out homeschooling for Christopher. Help us this summer to get caught up with reading.
6. Help us to use our time off wisely to renew and also to serve others (Samaritan's purse and Belize)
7. Bind us together as a family. Help Jason and I to be more like one. Help us to work together for the good of those children and for Christopher. Just make us even more in love and commited to the other. Thank you for such an amazing life partner.
8. Help us to be involved in the church and make new friends.

Thank you for the last few weeks we have with great friends. We know we can do none of this without you Lord. It is so exciting to be in a place that requires so much dependence on you. We want more and more of you. Let us be your servants and let us grow more in love with you.
