Family and Friends

Today is already May 1. 2010. Today we went canoeing with the family. Minus capsizing and getting really wet we had a good family time.
As we plan for our next adventure and mission, I am really grateful for many things. In the past year God has given us great times with friends. We have TRUE CHRISTIAN friends that have become our family.
I really believe that you can change a life by just being a friend and/ or a parent/family member.
Our friends went to House of Bounce in Rochester last night to celebrate Christopher's 6th Birthday. They all had an excellent time. I just looked around and watched. Christopher brought all these people together. Because of our family and our son, we created these moments with our dear friends with them. We love the times we create with them and the times that we create for them to be with their families. I also see this in the H2O course. I am not a great leader or preacher, but through leading this course with my dear friend DERIK I see that we have create something beautiful..we have created a space for people to come and commune with GOD and grow in HIM and have fellowship with other Christians. Thank you God for letting us be a part of these really important significant life moments. I want to only be a part of these types of things.
I am ready a book written by the DUGGARS, a family of over 20....I am praying while commiting this last month to the LORD as we prepare to go be houseparents. Lord I LOVE YOU! I want to be available to these children, to my husband and to our son, Chris. I am so thankful for what you are creating for us! Thank you for allowing us to serve as a family. Here are so houserules which I hope to implement and practice:
1. Always use soft words, even when you dont feel weel.
2. Always display kind actions, even if you have been mistreated.
3. Show joyful attitudes even when no one is looking.
4. Have sincere motives with no thought of self gain.
5. Think pure thoughts.
6. Always give a good report of others. Never tale-bear unless physical harm will come to someone. Use Matthew 18.
7. Never raise a hand to hit.
8. Never raise a foot to kick.
9. Never raise an object to throw.
10. Never raise a voice to yell.
11. Never raise an eye to scowl.
12. Use one toy/activity at a time.
13. Never let the sun go down on your wrath. Dont go to bed angry or guilty.
14. Amendment JOY. JESUS FIRST, Others second, Yourself Last.

Help us Lord to create an environment of love and safety for these children. We know that they will come to us wounded and hurt. Soften their hearts. Help us to rely on you at all times. Help us to cling to your promises and your WORD. Jason and I need more and more of you and less of ourselves. Bind us together in love and cast out anything that distracts us from each other and YOU! We love you LORD. We need you LORD.

I read in this book something that I need to be more mindful of........if you already have one of something....Your desire to have something just like it....it is a want NOT A NEED!
I would like to simplify my life and be a better steward of my money. Help Lord in these ways.
